Our Members

Membership

The Rockport Democratic Town Committee is comprised of 35 elected members. Members are elected every 4 years on the Massachusetts presidential primary ballot. Vacancies that occur between presidential primary years are filled by a vote of the town committee. The committee holds an organizational meeting in even-numbered years to elect its officers.

20-Year Members

After a member has served on the committee for 20 years, they no longer have to stand for election. Our current 20-year members are:
Sally Chapedelaine, Thomas J. Delaney, Maureen Dwinell, Mary B. Francis, June Michaels, and David Sheffield Wise.

Associate Members

If all 35 member positions are filled, the committee may vote to elect associate members. Associate members enjoy all of the privileges and obligations of committee membership except the right to vote. Young Democrats not yet eligible to vote may be associate members. Associate members eligible to be members are given preference when vacancies occur on the town committee. The committee currently has no associate members.
